WhatsApp Report Delivery for Lab Software
Available todaySamLab sends finished reports to patients over WhatsApp in two ways. On every plan, the report preview opens the lab’s own WhatsApp — the desktop app or WhatsApp Web — with a link to the report, and the operator presses Send. On Pro and above, a lab can connect its own WhatsApp Business account so reports go out by themselves with the PDF attached. Those messages are charged per message, and attaching the PDF needs an active cloud plan, because the PDF is served from SamLab’s storage.
The detail
WhatsApp is how a busy lab actually delivers reports. The patient gets a message with their report rather than making a second trip to the counter, which removes the single most common source of counter congestion in a busy lab. The link path needs nothing set up. Automatic delivery runs through the lab’s own WhatsApp Business account, so the message comes from the lab, and every automatic-send switch starts off until the lab turns it on.
How it is set up

Finalise and verify the report as normal.

Every plan: press WhatsApp in the report preview. The lab’s own WhatsApp opens with the patient’s number and a link to the report, and the operator presses Send.

Pro and above: connect the lab’s own WhatsApp Business account in Messaging settings, then choose which documents go out by themselves with the PDF attached.

Messages sent through WhatsApp Business are logged against the visit, so "did we send it?" has an answer.

Does the patient need the SamLab app?+
No. They receive a normal WhatsApp message. Patients need nothing installed and nothing explained.
What does WhatsApp delivery cost?+
Sending a report link from the lab’s own WhatsApp costs nothing extra, on every plan. Automatic WhatsApp Business delivery is on Pro and above: messages are charged per message, and attaching the PDF needs an active SamLab cloud plan, because the PDF is served from SamLab’s storage.
Can I send before the report is verified?+
Sending is tied to the finalised report deliberately. An unverified result reaching a patient is the kind of mistake that is very hard to walk back.
Does it work if the lab’s internet is down?+
Sending needs connectivity at that moment. Everything upstream — registration, result entry, report generation — does not, so work continues and delivery catches up.
