Immunoassay Analyzer Integration for Lab Software

Available today

SamLab's LIS add-on captures hormone, tumour marker and serology results from immunoassay analyzers over serial or Ethernet into result entry, with IQC on the Pro plan and above. Reference ranges and flags are retained. To confirm your analyzer is supported, bring its make and model to a demo.

The detail

Immunoassay instruments (CLIA, ECLIA and similar) carry the extra weight that their results are frequently the clinically decisive ones — thyroid panels, cardiac markers, fertility hormones. The reference range often depends on sex, age or gestational week, which is a catalogue question rather than an interface question, but it is where the two meet.

How it is set up

  1. 1

Connect the analyzer to the lab PC over its existing port — RS-232 serial or TCP/IP, whichever the instrument already uses.

  2. 2

Install the parser bundle for your exact make and model. It carries the protocol, the transport and the code map that ties the machine’s test codes to your SamLab catalogue.

  3. 3

Run a live sample. Results land against the open order, matched by the barcode already on the tube.

  4. 4

Check the raw packet log if a value looks wrong — SamLab keeps what the machine actually sent, so a mismatch is a mapping question, not a guess.

Questions labs ask

Can reference ranges vary by sex and age?+

Yes. Ranges are held per parameter and can be qualified, so a result arriving from the instrument is flagged against the range that applies to that patient rather than a single global band.

Are critical values flagged?+

Critical high and critical low are supported as distinct from ordinary out-of-range, so a panic value is not just another bold number.

Does the method print on the report?+

Yes — method appears alongside the result, with the reagent lot beside it where your workflow records that.
