SamLab does not ship a driver written specifically for Roche Cobas. It ships a generic ASTM/HL7 driver plus a per-analyzer parser bundle, and that is a deliberate design: Roche Cobas instruments differ from model to model in their code maps and message layout, so a bundle built for your exact model is more reliable than a driver that claims a whole brand. In practice most Roche Cobas machines in Indian labs speak ASTM over serial, which is squarely inside what the engine handles. What we will not do is tell you it works before we have seen your model’s spec.

Install the parser bundle for your exact make and model. It carries the protocol, the transport and the code map that ties the machine’s test codes to your SamLab catalogue.

Is my Roche Cobas analyzer supported?+
Almost certainly, if it speaks ASTM or HL7 over serial or TCP — which most Roche Cobas instruments do. But we confirm per model rather than per brand, because the test-code map differs between models. Do I need the manufacturer’s middleware?+
No. SamLab talks to the instrument directly over its existing serial or network port. If you already run vendor middleware, SamLab can sit downstream of it instead — either arrangement works, and which is better depends on how many instruments share the bench.
What happens if the internet drops mid-run?+
Nothing stops. The analyzer link is local to the lab PC and the database is local too, so results keep landing against orders through an outage. Cloud sync catches up when the connection returns.
